Master Builders takes its responsibility for the health, safety and well being of its Apprentices very seriously.
We undertake a comprehensive recruitment and induction process and ensure that we get the best fit between our Apprentice and their Host Employer.
We provide all our apprentices with entry level safety training free of charge and before we allow them onto a building site. This includes Work Safely at Heights, Manual Handling and Safe Use of Power Tools training.
All Master Builders Apprentices are provided with a Personal Protective Equipment Backpack, which contains safety glasses, hard hat, earmuffs, ear plugs and gloves.
All approved Master Builders Host Employers are fully screened and must meet the Master Builders Minimum Safety Standards.
Each Master Builders Apprentice is assigned a dedicated Field Officer to support and mentor them throughout their placement and apprenticeship with Master Builders.
The Field Officer will attend site on the apprentices first day to ensure they settle in and have been given a site and safety induction. The Field Officer will then make regular site visits and phone contact with the Apprentice to discuss any safety issues or concerns and to ensure a safe working environment.
We provide monthly safety quizzes for our apprentices to complete and we keep them informed of safety issues and updates through our Newsletter.
