At Master Builders, we are invested in individuals achieving their career goals and are committed to an industry that is diverse, equitable and inclusive. We are committed to creating an industry where different skills and experiences are valued and celebrated.
10% of the apprentices employed by Master Builders are women (figure as at March 2024). This is a number we are extremely proud of and is more than three times the industry average in NSW of 2%. We recognise the contributions of women in Building and Construction and are continuing to work hard to grow this number.
Through our pre-apprenticeship programs, our supportive mentoring relationships, and our carefully selected Host Employers we are providing career pathways and support that make the decision to start a career in building and construction, safe and easy for women.
Master Builders Apprenticeship Services support our female apprentices in a number of ways, including
- Access to a female Field Officer
- Female-friendly Pre-apprenticeship Programs
- Promotion of our female apprentices in social media
- Networking events
- Additional mentoring and support as needed
